Farewell Jenny

michaelleeseiler Posted by michaelleeseiler at 11:01 AM on November 05, 2009 Comments comments (0)

So long Jenny! Last night was great fun and bitter-sweet. I stopped in to the City Park Grill to enjoy the Last Open Mic with Jen (Pinky Lee) before her departure Monday for Boulder. It was a great evening of fun and music, a few impromptu jams, lots of hugs and a few tears. It’s a season and a journey for her. Something that needs done. More than an urge… a driven pursuit to see what the possibilities might bring. Our best wishes and love accompany her on this journey....

Where was Summer?

michaelleeseiler Posted by michaelleeseiler at 10:13 AM on October 02, 2009 Comments comments (0)

*Did I miss something? Were we not supposed to have a summer sometime over the last few months? How is it that Global Warming gave us one of the coldest summers in recent history? Yes, like most of us, I’m full of questions, but do not expect any answers. I JUST MISSED HAVING A REAL SUMMER!

*I was lucky in that having a great many outside gigs this year, I only got wet a bit once and rained out twice. Many more of my friends and colleagues, were not so lucky. I still ha...

A great Labor Day Weekend!

michaelleeseiler Posted by michaelleeseiler at 10:26 AM on September 08, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Finally, a weekend off to just have fun!

Labor Day weekend 2009 has been the first chance for me to just kick back and relax all summer long!  It was a glorious weekend, with near perfect weather and the opportunity to just hang around my home and play in the garden munching on fresh veggies right off the vine.  Reading in the warm sun on the deck was a pleasure I’ve missed all summer, and actually going out to listen to other artists was a real treat! ...

Here's to the Summer of 2009

michaelleeseiler Posted by michaelleeseiler at 11:23 AM on August 22, 2009 Comments comments (0)

It’s been a summer of fun and warm people, even if the weather has not been full of sun & warmth.  I’ve been blessed to meet so many great folks, share stories and music, and the love of the Lord!

I’ve traveled North to Curtis, where Kelly & Bud keep inviting me back to the Palace on the Lake!  Peaceful, majestic and full of fun, the Ole Forrest Inn is a special place indeed.  Locally I’ve ...

Sadie & Jake’s is a great spot on Bridge Street in Charlevoix.  Directly across form the Park over-looking  Round Lake and the Charlevoix Yacht Basin, this wonderful little shop, not only supports local Musicians and Artists, but it also can serve you up some mouth watering Sandwiches, Ice cream, and your favorite Coffee Specialty.

Friday, August 7, found James Hughes of Grand Rapids, on Bass, Robin Luce of Central Lake on Harp, and...

Sometimes a Solo at Short's, this Mondayevening was different as Grand Rapid's Artists Dean Wiers Windemullerand James Hughes joined me for an Ensemble. This gave me the rareopportunity to apply some of my Percussion styles, and also offered theluxury of having great young musicians accompany me on some of mytunes.

It was a fun evening!

BLISSFEST 2009!!!!

michaelleeseiler Posted by michaelleeseiler at 11:24 AM on July 15, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Blissfest 2009 was my first experience with this festival.  After years of friends and acquaintances asking “Are you going to Bliss?”, and  “Did you go to Bliss?”, I finally had the opportunity to go and be part of this wonderful event.

The Bliss organization has assisted me with sponsorships in the past, and I wanted to “pay them back” , as it were, for this, so I hopped on down to the Blissfest office ...

Tuesday June 30th, was a great Open Mic night at the Jordan Inn!  Some stolid regulars, mixed with returning friends and fresh faces alike entertained everyone for 2 three-song rotations prior to the public debut of a newly organized band comprised of former regulars to the open mic.  We hade the pleasure to listen to musicians like Don Judd, Gordan Howie Dale & Sandy Rhea, Jack Elliot, Melissa, and Adolf.  Most of this acoustic music preceded the new band’s debut aro...
