JUKE! Energetic Duo
James Forrest Hughes, Composer, Performer, Musician, from Grand Rapids, joins Michael Lee for the Duo JUKE. James accompanied Micheal the summer of 2009 at various venues in Michigan from Charlevoix to Caledonia, and will be performing New Year's Eve in Traverse City opening for Thornetta Davis. Acoustic Solo Winner of the 2008 Mid North Michigan Blues Challenge, Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter, & Boyne Area's own Entertainer in the North......Michael Lee
Michael Lee is a Singer-Songwriter, Guitarist, Blues Artist and Folk Singer, who makes his home near the heart of Boyne Country in the Meadows of Antrim County. His November 2008 win at the Mid North Michigan Blues Challenge secured him a spot to compete in the International Blues Challenge, where he performed at Mr. Handy's Blues Hall, on Beale Street, Memphis TN, two consecutive nights in February 2009. These performances brought acclaim from such Local Industry Celebrities as Liz Lautner (Locally reknowned Entertainer), Billy Gibson (Billy Gibson Band), Bill Wax (XM Radio), Steve Soviak (Mid North Michigan Blues Society), and Felix Ybarra, (Big City Rhythm & Blues Magazine).
Although Blues is currently a predominant pursuit, It is not his only strength, and his new CD, "My Own Man", displays an overview of his varied styles and talents.
